Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and DJ Puggles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rua throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Puggles.
Puggles throws a quick inside leg kick.
Puggles is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Rua tries a head kick but it misses.
Rua blocks a jab.
Rua dives in and grabs Puggles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Puggles pushes down on Rua's head and hops out.

Puggles throws a right hand that Rua ducks under and follows up with a left that Rua also avoids with ease.
Puggles swats away the attempt to clinch by Rua.

Puggles shoots in for a takedown but Rua shows good takedown defense.
Rua keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Donk. Rua catches Puggles right on the button with a cross.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Puggles.
Puggles misses with a few strikes there.
Rua takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Puggles blocks a head kick by Rua.

Puggles wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Rua tries to keep control of the position but Puggles is staying busy.
Rua controlling the position well here. Puggles rolled but Rua kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
You can see the frustration on Puggles's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Rua is persistently looking for the submission but Puggles is defending it well.

Puggles biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape.
Rua has the hooks in. Puggles is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Puggles is trying to defend against the choke here but Rua has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Rua Tightens the hold and Puggles taps out furiously! Rua displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
