The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McHale tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Pynchon swings for the body but McHale moves out of range.

McHale shoots in but Pynchon avoids the takedown attempt easily.
The fighters circling - Pynchon throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Pynchon counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pynchon accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
McHale lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Pynchon!

It looks like Thomas Pynchon has been cut.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Pynchon can do anything to dispel that myth.
