Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Blade (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wallace comes to the cage accompanied by Milk Lizard By The Dillinger Escape Plan. Jonny Wallace had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jonny Wallace!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jackson Blade!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Blade looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Wallace shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Blade is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wallace stopping the sweep attempt from Blade.
Wallace trying to control the position from guard on top but Blade is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Wallace throws out a leg kick but Blade moves out of range and Wallace only half commits.

and Wallace counters with a nice double leg into side control. Blade won't be happy with that.
Wallace wants to stand but Blade has his arm trapped.

Wallace tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Wallace has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Blade wants to control but Wallace postures up.

Wallace is looking to take a break and control but Blade is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Wallace tries to stand but Blade is controlling his head.
You can see the frustration on Blade's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Blade manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Blade wants to take a breather but Wallace is having none of it.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Blade tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Wallace counters with a shoot takedown. Blade fights it but they end up in guard.
Wallace is breathing heavily.

Wallace wants to pass the guard but Blade is keeping the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Blade has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Blade is on top in guard.
Wallace on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Wallace tries to get out of the position.
Wallace wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Blade is now in half guard.
Wallace is looking to improve his position.
Wallace scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Blade manages to mount him!

Wallace seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Wallace wants to get up but he can't break Blade's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Wallace tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Blade paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Blade as Wallace shoots in.

Blade tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wallace just stands there and leans against the cage.

Blade should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Blade drops down looking for an ankle pick but Wallace pulls his leg out and moves away.
Jonny Wallace has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Blade.
Blade shoots and misses

and Wallace counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Blade!
Wallace unloads with some shots from mount but Blade bucks and avoids them well.
Wallace can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Blade is looking to escape.
Blade's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Blade is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Blade avoids a series of strikes thrown by Wallace.

Blade tries to hold on but Wallace postures up.
Wallace trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Blade working to try and regain half guard.
Blade wants to hold on but Wallace pushes him away.

Wallace looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Wallace punching from mount but Blade doing a good job of avoiding damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonny Wallace dominated that second round.
That's time! Wallace's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!



Wallace moves into range and clinches up with Blade.
A knee to the head by Blade.
Blade fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Wallace tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Blade smiles and moves away.
Wallace fails in his attempt to clinch.

Wallace looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Blade trying to control but Wallace postures up.
Wallace controlling the pace.
Wallace is thwarting Blade's attempts to control the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Blade wants to get back to his feet.
Wallace wants to control but Blade is keeping him busy.
Blade is looking to control Wallace's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Blade avoid being mounted?
Wallace performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Wallace thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Blade wants to clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Wallace.

Blade tries to buck Wallace off but Wallace is having none of it.
Blade regains half guard there - taking advantage of Wallace's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Blade wants to stand up but Wallace is controlling him.
Wallace wants to control from the top but Blade keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Blade misses with a straight left.
Blade darts in trying to clinch

and Wallace counters with a shoot takedown. Blade fights it but they end up in guard.
Wallace wants to stand but Blade has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jackson Blade has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Jonny Wallace showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Wallace, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
