And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nicolai Vladimier!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop misses with a few strikes there.
Bishop throws a nice looking combination but Vladimier bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Bishop shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Vladimier as he avoids it easily.
Bishop fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vladimier finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Vladimier looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bishop is fending him off so far but Vladimier persists. Nope, Bishop circles away and we're back to standing.

Steven Bishop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bishop bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Vladimier tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bishop is looking for a choke. Vladimier gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Vladimier manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.

Bishop is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Vladimier dives into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vladimier wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bishop keeps working.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Steven Bishop.
