PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Castle Irons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Chong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Castle Irons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Daniel Chong!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Thiago Cunha and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chong misses with a kick to the body.
Chong fails with a takedown attempt.
Chong shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Irons pinned against the cage. Irons gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Irons throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Irons throws a front kick that sends Chong stumbling back into the cage.
Chong blocks a head kick by Irons.
Irons throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Chong.
A combination from Irons does no damage.
Chong fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Castle Irons has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Daniel Chong.
Chong lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Chong gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Irons.

It looks like Daniel Chong has been cut.
Chong looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Chong crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Irons - the referee stops the clock and Chong gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Irons. Chong manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Chong looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Chong takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Chong will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Chong takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Irons throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Chong scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Chong takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Chong misses with a double jab
and Irons counters with a body kick that stops Chong in his tracks momentarily.
Chong is trying desperately to land a takedown but Irons is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Chong.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chong takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Nice sprawl there from Irons as Chong shoots in.
A left lands for Irons.

Chong is rocked!
Chong on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Chong is still on wobbly legs! Can Irons finish him?
Chong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Irons darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Chong's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Irons before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
