Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Mark Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Wilson as he jumps to the side.

Wilson clinches.
Wilson with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.

Wilson jumps into guard, dragging Silva to the mat.
Wilson trying to keep a closed guard but Silva is proving a slippery customer.
Silva wants to stand but Wilson is controlling his posture from full guard.

Wilson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Silva is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Wilson tries to get the hooks in deep but Silva pushed the leg off.

Wilson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Wilson stands up and waves to Silva to follow him.

and Wilson counters with a single leg into guard. Silva didn't expect that.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wilson decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Silva, up you get!

Silva is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Wilson cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Wilson sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Wilson is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Silva has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Wilson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Silva is looking to escape.

Silva tries to lock up and control but Wilson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silva wants to control but Wilson is having none of it.

Wilson jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Silva is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Silva and Wilson has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva is trying to buck Wilson off.

Mark Wilson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Silva is refusing to be controlled, as Wilson sits in half guard.
Wilson trying to mount his opponent but Silva defends it.

Silva tries to roll over but Wilson keeps him under control.
Wilson wants to advance to full mount but Silva doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

Silva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

Well Wilson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
