The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lussio tries to clinch but Jewell moves out of range.
Lussio takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Lussio doesn't manage to clinch there - Jewell circles away.
Lussio fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jewell avoids it really well and circles away.

Lussio moves into range and clinches up with Jewell.

Lussio gets control of Jewell's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lussio will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Lussio has his foot on Jewell's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jewell works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lussio wants to improve his position but Jewell is controlling well.

Jewell decides to stand and escape the position.
Jewell jabs Lussio right on the nose. Lussio blinks but takes it well.
Lussio tries to clinch but Jewell moves out of range.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Nathan Jewell dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jewell throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Lussio tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jewell is in Lussio's guard.

Lussio is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Jewell is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Lussio knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Lussio is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Nathan Jewell wasn't active enough on the ground.

Lussio clinches up with Jewell and pushes him back against the cage.

Lussio manages to break the clinch.

Jewell closes the distance and clinches.
Jewell keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lussio's efforts to push away.

Lussio moves in looking to clinch but Jewell pushes him off.

Jewell looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lussio is fending him off so far but Jewell persists. Nope, Lussio circles away and we're back to standing.
Lussio wants to clinch up but Jewell keeps it at a distance.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Jewell is defended easily by Lussio.
Lussio lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lussio.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jewell takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Lussio doesn't manage to clinch there - Jewell circles away.
Jewell seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Lussio shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Jewell is backing up but Lussio catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Jewell covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Lussio Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
