Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Tom Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adam Pearce!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Bruno Hogan and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Pearce counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Pearce working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Pearce tries to stand but Jones is controlling from the bottom.
Pearce content to stall in guard here.
Jones wants to sweep but no luck.
Jones wants to stand up but Pearce is controlling him.
Pearce is working Jones over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pearce tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
Pearce advances to half guard.
Pearce thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Jones's head.

Pearce seems to be working for a kimura but Jones defends the submission attempt.

Pearce is working for a kimura but Jones is defending it quite comfortably.
Pearce perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Pearce is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Pearce is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Pearce eventually gives up the hold.
Pearce prevents Jones from improving his position.

Pearce lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Pearce seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Jones does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Jones shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Pearce counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.
Jones is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pearce scoring with some ground and pound.
Pearce pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now.
Pearce controls from within his opponent's guard.

It looks like Pearce might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Pearce pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jones is keeping the position for now.
Pearce works over Jones with some ground and pound from guard.
Pearce content to stall in guard here.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Pearce's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Adam Pearce wasn't active enough on the ground.
Jones tries to clinch there but Pearce circles away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Pearce fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Jones manages to avoid it.
Pearce shoots in and drives through. Jones sprawls well.
Jones tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Jones shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pearce as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tom Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pearce avoids the head kick by Jones.
Pearce swats away the attempt to clinch by Jones.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jones moves in looking to clinch but Pearce pushes him off.

Pearce shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jones is trying to defend but Pearce finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Pearce dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Pearce closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Pearce seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Jones is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Adam Pearce!
Adam Pearce took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'I just whipped your ass Scrap Iron style'.
