The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kennedy throws a head kick but Frankenberg moves out of range.
Kennedy goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Kennedy fails with a takedown attempt.

Frankenberg looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Frankenberg wants to stand but Kennedy has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Frankenberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Kennedy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Kennedy looking for a guillotine here but Frankenberg defends easily.

Frankenberg must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Kennedy escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Frankenberg gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kennedy tries to pull guard but Frankenberg won't allow it.

Frankenberg jumps guard and drags Kennedy to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Frankenberg wriggles free and stands up.
Kennedy tries to bum rush Frankenberg with a series of wild strikes but Frankenberg uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Frankenberg fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Kennedy throws a head kick that misses
and Frankenberg counters with a left and a right that stings Kennedy.
Grant Kennedy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch combination from Kennedy misses.

Frankenberg scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Kennedy slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Frankenberg working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Kennedy's head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kennedy had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Frankenberg is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Kennedy Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Frankenberg's back instead.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Frankenberg scores with a hook to the body. Kennedy takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Frankenberg clinches up with Kennedy and pushes him back against the cage.

Frankenberg is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Kennedy dives into side control.

Frankenberg is wriggling around trying to escape but Kennedy has hooked up a rear naked choke! Is it over??? Is it... you're damn right it is! Frankenberg taps out and Kennedy picks up the big win! Great work there by Kennedy!
