PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jakz Skedol (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Franz Kafka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Kafka's choice of entrance music: Heartbeats. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Franz Kafka was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jakz Skedol!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Franz Kafka!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skedol connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kafka. Kafka circles away out of range and recomposes himself.


It looks like Franz Kafka has been cut.
Kafka throws a body punch but Skedol moves out of range.
Kafka lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.


It looks like Jakz Skedol has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Kafka has Skedol up against the cage in a clinch.
A nice right hand lands inside from Kafka.
Skedol wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kafka has him pressed against the cage.
Skedol blocking some punches.

Skedol manages to break the clinch.
Nice body punch from Skedol.
Kafka displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Skedol throws out the jab.
Kafka fails with a takedown attempt.
Skedol misses the jab.
Skedol really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Skedol scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Skedol misses with a left hand
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Kafka comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Skedol swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Kafka lands a body shot.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Skedol misses the body punch
and Kafka counters with a nice uppercut.
Kafka thuds his right hand into Skedol's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Kafka lands with a thumping leg kick.
Skedol looks to score with a jab to the body but Kafka is just out of range.
A chopping leg kick lands by Kafka.
Skedol's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kafka connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Skedol scrambles back to his feet.


Jakz Skedol's cut is getting worse.
Skedol takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Skedol is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Skedol on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Kafka smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Kafka throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Skedol was covering up waiting for the punch and Kafka finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Kafka slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Skedol is trying to buck Kafka off.
An elbow from Kafka crashes against the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kafka controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kafka throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Kafka in side control, throwing shots but Skedol defends.
The strikes coming from Kafka are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kafka in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Kafka creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Skedol avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Kafka.
Kafka in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Kafka throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Kafka works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Jakz Skedol's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Franz Kafka!
After winning the bout, Franz Kafka thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
