Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chris Hartlock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hartlock comes to the cage accompanied by Shoot to Thrill - AC/DC. There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rua lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Hartlock shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rua as he avoids it easily.

Rua feints a jab promting Hartlock to slip. Rua then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Hartlock slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Rua will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Rua throws a right and a left that Hartlock avoids nicely.

and Rua counters with a nice body shot.
Antonio Rua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rua lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Rua counters with a three punch combo that has Hartlock backing up. Hartlock nods at Rua to acknowledge the strikes.
Rua rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hartlock moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hartlock looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Rua paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Rua misses with a double jab.

Hartlock avoids a punch combination nicely.
Hartlock shoots for a takedown but Rua saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Rua thuds his right hand into Hartlock's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Rua looks to land a combination but Hartlock avoids it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hartlock shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rua but Rua pushes him off and we're back to square one.

No joy there for Rua, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

and Rua counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Hartlock takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Rua thows a body shot but no joy.
Hartlock slips a jab and a cross from Rua.
Antonio Rua seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hartlock misses with an attempted mid kick.
This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Hartlock might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far.
Rua throws a right and a left that Hartlock avoids nicely.
Nice body punch from Rua.
Hartlock dodges the punch combination from Rua.
Left hook, right uppercut from Rua.
Rua lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rua.
Rua uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Hartlock has time to react.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Hartlock. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.

Rua lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hartlock circles away quickly and effectively.
Rua works Hartlock's body with a nice hook.

Hartlock feints and as Rua raises his hands in defense, Hartlock changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hartlock trying to control but Rua is working from the bottom.
Rua wants to stand up but Hartlock is controlling him.
Hartlock is working Rua over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Hartlock is standing up over Rua. Rua looks to escape but Hartlock dives into side control.

Hartlock is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Rua has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
