Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Taye Barber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Dzevad Poturak!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barber feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Poturak wants to sweep here but Barber controlling him for the moment.
Barber thows a big elbow that misses.
Barber wants to pass the guard but Poturak is keeping the position.

Poturak is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Barber tries to free his leg and advance position but Poturak is retaining full guard.

Poturak escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Barber gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Barber wants to control from the top but Poturak keeps moving.
Poturak is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Barber wants to control but Poturak is keeping busy and won't allow it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Poturak is working for a kimura but Barber is defending it quite comfortably.
Poturak tries to pass the half guard into mount. Barber knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Poturak works his foot free and advances to mount.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Poturak is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Barber has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Poturak looks gassed!
Barber is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Barber knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Poturak on the ground.

Poturak swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
