Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Cerrone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Champ Bombada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stephen Cerrone!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Champ Bombada!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Valeri Chadov and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bombada waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Cerrone.
Cerrone tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bombada paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cerrone moves in looking to clinch but Bombada pushes him off.
Cerrone tries to close the distance and clinch up but Bombada swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bombada thuds his right hand into Cerrone's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
A looping hook to the body misses from Cerrone. Bombada does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bombada connects with a right hand. Cerrone shakes it off.
Cerrone throws a series of punches but Bombada avoids them all with ease.

Cerrone drives through with a takedown into Bombada's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Stephen Cerrone just wasn't active enough.
Cerrone wants to clinch up but Bombada keeps it at a distance.
Champ Bombada is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cerrone throws a series of punches but Bombada moves out of range.
Cerrone fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Cerrone tries to clinch up but Bombada circles away and keeps his distance.
Cerrone throws a hook to the side of Bombada's head but Bombada sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bombada cracks Cerrone with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Bombada throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bombada keeps the fight on the outside.
Cerrone shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Bombada pinned against the cage. Bombada gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Cerrone moves away from the strike by Bombada.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A shot to the body from Cerrone misses
and Bombada counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Bombada throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cerrone.
Cerrone jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.

Cerrone forces Bombada back against the cage and clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cerrone tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Cerrone tries to throw a body punch but Bombada avoids it by throwing Cerrone back against the cage.
Cerrone tries to break free but Bombada pushes him back against the cage.
Cerrone doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Cerrone tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Cerrone prevents Bombada from breaking the clinch.
Cerrone wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Bombada is trying to break the clinch but Cerrone is controlling him.
Cerrone fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Cerrone jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bombada walks away with a smile on his face. Cerrone gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bombada stuns Cerrone with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Cerrone thows a body shot but no joy.
Bombada keeps the fight on the outside.
Bombada fails to land with a series of punches.
Cerrone throws a right hand that Bombada ducks under and follows up with a left that Bombada also avoids with ease.
Bombada swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Bombada throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bombada uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Cerrone.
Cerrone ducks right into an uppercut from Bombada.
Bombada has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Cerrone closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Bombada did well to prevent Cerrone getting side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cerrone is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Bombada is just riding it out for now. Cerrone eventually gives up the hold.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cerrone wants to work for an arm triangle but Bombada is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Bombada is defending against the submission attempts here by Cerrone.
Bombada has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Cerrone is working away from the top position though.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Cerrone is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bombada defends it well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Stephen Cerrone will probably get the nod.
That's time! Cerrone's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Cerrone closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Bombada's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Cerrone scores with a nice short uppercut.
Cerrone tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Bombada's elbow.

Cerrone breaks the clinch.
Cerrone tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Bombada steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Cerrone.
Bombada scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Cerrone steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Bombada.
Cerrone just misses with a punch to the body.
Cerrone throws a predictable looking body shot
and Bombada counters with a big right hand! Oh Cerrone is in trouble here! Bombada follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Champ Bombada!
Champ Bombada is the new middleweight champion!
Champ Bombada bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
