PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimbo Jimbob (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cedric Vanbelt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vanbelt is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Meet the Monster. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimbo Jimbob!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cedric Vanbelt!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vanbelt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jimbob as he jumps to the side.
Vanbelt shoots for a takedown but Jimbob saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jimbob is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Jimbob looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Vanbelt prevents the takedown attempt.

Vanbelt decides to pull guard.
Jimbob has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Vanbelt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jimbob's guard.

Jimbob pushes Vanbelt off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Vanbelt wants to clinch.

Jimbob gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jimbob could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Vanbelt tries to stand but Jimbob is controlling from the bottom.
Jimbob preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Vanbelt chips away with some ground and pound.
Jimbob is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Vanbelt is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Vanbelt is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Jimbob jumps into side control!
Vanbelt sneaks back into half guard.
Vanbelt keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Vanbelt wants to get back to his feet.
Jimbob working the head and body with strikes.
Vanbelt is pressing down on Jimbob's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jimbob might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Vanbelt pulls Jimbob in close to his closed guard and prevents Jimbob from doing any damage or advancing position.
Jimbob wants to control from the top but Vanbelt keeps moving.
Jimbob throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vanbelt is wriggling around but Jimbob manages to pass to half guard.
Jimbob prevents Vanbelt from standing back up.
Vanbelt looks gassed!

Vanbelt is not content to let Jimbob control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

and Vanbelt counters with a huge uppercut, hook combination that drops Jimbob! The ref has seen enough - he's dived in to stop the fight! Brutal strikes by Vanbelt!
