Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Phil Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Timmy Mallet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Griffin comes to the cage accompanied by Mutiny. Timmy Mallet will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mallet lands a head kick!
The fight stays on the outside here - Mallet looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Griffin misses with a double jab
and Mallet counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Griffin is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Mallet misses with a jab, cross combination.
Nice sprawl there from Mallet as Griffin shoots in.
Mallet connects with a high kick.
A head kick from Mallet lands but Griffin takes it in his stride.
Griffin will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mallet moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Griffin shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mallet pinned against the cage. Mallet gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Phil Griffin. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Griffin is breathing heavily.

Griffin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Griffin thows a huge punch but Mallet dodges it nicely.
Mallet really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Griffin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Griffin has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mallet tries to roll over but Griffin keeps him under control.
Griffin moves into full mount! Mallet won't be happy about that!

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Griffin cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Griffin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Griffin is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Mallet goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Griffin!
