Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cameron Speed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Lin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Speed's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Trivium / Shogun. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Cameron Speed!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Frank Lin!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed right hand from Lin misses the target.
Lin blocks a low kick nicely.
Speed shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Lin defends it nicely.
Speed looks for the body kick but Lin saw that one coming.

Lin clinches with his opponent.
Lin gets through Speed's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Speed is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Lin gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Lin misses with a hook to the ribs.
Lin misses with some punches.
Lin struggles to land a body shot inside as Speed controls his hands.
Speed goes for a takedown in the clinch but Lin prevents it.

Speed ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Speed no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Speed utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Lin trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Speed not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lin avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Speed working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lin doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lin manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Speed can't keep his opponent in guard - Lin advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Lin decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Speed tries to pull guard but Lin holds him up against the cage and eventually Speed drops back down to his feet.
Lin misses with a hook from the clinch.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Lin scores with a nice hook to the head.

Lin trying to control but Speed is working from the bottom.
Lin might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Speed kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Lin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Speed has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lin has managed to get both his arms back between Speed's legs - danger averted.
Speed pulls Lin in close to prevent any damage.
Speed keeping moving, preventing Lin from controlling successfully.

Frank Lin has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Speed takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Speed.

Speed closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Lin to the mat! Lin manages to get full guard.
Speed stays in close to Lin's body and controls the position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Speed!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lin lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Lin looking to control but Speed is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lin sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Speed tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Speed has closed the distance and engaged Lin in a clinch.
Lin swings wildly with an uppercut but Speed uses good head movement to avoid it.
Lin fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Nice body punch from Lin - that landed with a thud.
Lin is pushing Speed up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
A short body shot lands from Lin as the two fighters clinch.
Lin tries to throw a body punch but Speed avoids it by throwing Lin back against the cage.
A head punch on the inside from Lin fails to land.
Lin trying to control the position but instead, Speed has worked for underhooks and has pushed Lin into the cage.

Lin swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Speed tries to score a body lock takedown but Lin shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Speed blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Lin will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Speed up against the cage.

Speed tightens his grip and picks Lin up, before dumping him to the ground. Lin manages to land in guard.

Speed is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Speed is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lin!

Speed goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lin turns into him and now he's in Speed's guard.
Speed looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lin is one step ahead there.

Speed is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lin is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Speed is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lin sees it coming and defends easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Speed is looking to take a break and control but Lin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lin is looking for a sweep. Speed is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Frank Lin will probably get the nod - 10:9.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Speed throws the kick towards the body but Lin avoids it.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lin throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Speed.

Lin misses with a jab, cross combination.

Lin makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Lin crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Speed - the referee stops the clock and Lin gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Speed. Lin manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lin takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lin throws a wild body kick that Speed sees coming a mile off.
Speed takes one on the button.
Lin scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Speed lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lin has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lin and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Lin swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Speed.
Lin throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - an gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt.

Horrible takedown by Speed or perhaps it was just good defense by Lin which made him look bad.
