The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madsen ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Madsen staying out of range there.
Madsen swings for the body but Monstra moves out of range.
Madsen catches Monstra with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

It looks like Marcus Monstra has been cut.
Monstra misses with a series of wild punches.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Monstra enables Madsen to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Monstra manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Madsen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Madsen wants to control from the top but Monstra keeps moving.

Marcus Monstra decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
