PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Riggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hank Calloway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calloway has chosen When The Man Comes Around as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Hank Calloway is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hank Calloway!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, George Francis and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Riggins looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Calloway throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Calloway slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Calloway can do anything to dispel that myth.

Calloway shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

BOOM! Calloway connects with a massive shot to the dome!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hank Calloway showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Riggins is bucking up trying to escape but Calloway cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Calloway cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Riggins tries to reverse the position but Calloway maintains control.

Calloway postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Riggins looks a forlorn figure.

Riggins bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Riggins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Calloway swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Calloway thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Hank Calloway comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Calloway has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
