PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Bledsoe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Micheal Moon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Bledsoe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Micheal Moon!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Moon shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bledsoe sprawls well. Bledsoe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Moon gets slowly back to his feet.
Moon looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Bledsoe fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Moon to the ground. Bledsoe is now in Moon's guard.
Bledsoe throwing strikes but missing.
Moon can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bledsoe controls the pace.

Bledsoe stands up and waves to Moon to follow him.

Bledsoe shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bledsoe working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Moon is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Bledsoe scores with a couple of nice shots.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bledsoe connects with a nice short shot to Moon's temple.

Bledsoe seems to be looking for submissions.
Bledsoe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Bledsoe stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Bledsoe rushes Moon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bledsoe goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Moon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Bledsoe avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Bledsoe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bledsoe shoots for a double leg takedown but Moon sprawls well. He's pushed Bledsoe's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Bledsoe closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Moon can't break the clinch.

Bledsoe gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bledsoe stays in close to Moon's body and controls the position.
Bledsoe works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Bledsoe takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bledsoe lands strikes from half guard.
Moon is trying to get back to full guard.

Bledsoe seems to be working for a kimura but Moon defends the submission attempt.
Bledsoe looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bledsoe looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Moon with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Bledsoe takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Bledsoe slips a nice elbow through Moon's hands, connecting with Moon's forehead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bledsoe winds up and cracks Moon with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Bledsoe sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Ground and pound from Bledsoe.
Bledsoe keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Bledsoe slips a nice elbow through Moon's hands, connecting with Moon's forehead.


Moon is rocked!

Bledsoe seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Moon is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Chris Bledsoe!
