Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Tatsuya Kawajiri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Erik Weiss (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kawajiri's entrance music is Water Pow . A fine choice. Weiss has chosen Through the Fire and Flames as his entrance music. Tatsuya Kawajiri has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tatsuya Kawajiri!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erik Weiss!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weiss misses with an uppercut
and Kawajiri counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Nice cross by Weiss.
Kawajiri fails to land the takedown.
Weiss looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Weiss lands a lovely overhand right.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kawajiri has his foot on Weiss's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Weiss works his way back into a safe position though.
Weiss really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kawajiri. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Kawajiri bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Weiss's guard.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Weiss is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kawajiri connects with a nice short shot to Weiss's temple.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kawajiri uses his free foot to push down on Weiss's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Weiss.
