PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Big Bastard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Damian Pabin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pabin is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bastard.
Pabin looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Bastard throws a leg kick that is checked
and Pabin counters with a three punch combo that has Bastard backing up. Bastard nods at Pabin to acknowledge the strikes.
Bastard misses with a head kick.
A left lands for Pabin.
Pabin looks to land a left hand but Bastard moved out of range nicely.
Bastard shoots in but Pabin avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Pabin just misses with a punch to the body.

Bastard forces Pabin back against the cage and clinches.

Bastard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Bastard throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bastard throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bastard lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.

Bastard shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Bastard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

and Bastard counters with a three punch combo that has Pabin backing up. Pabin nods at Bastard to acknowledge the strikes.

Bastard looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Bastard holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Bastard is trying to pull guard but Pabin has him pressed against the cage.

Bastard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pabin thows a body shot but no joy.
Bastard throws a right and a left that Pabin avoids nicely.
Bastard swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pabin counters with a series of strikes. Bastard will be more careful next time no doubt.
Damian Pabin is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bastard shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pabin sprawls well. Pabin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bastard gets slowly back to his feet.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Bastard closes the distance and clinches up with Pabin, looking for a takedown. Bastard pushes Pabin against the cage but Pabin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Pabin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bastard fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Pabin has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Pabin throws a series of punches but Bastard avoids them all with ease.

Pabin gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Bastard to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bastard keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Pabin's head.

Bastard is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Pabin is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bastard accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Pabin is looking to stand up but Bastard isn't so interested in that idea.
Bastard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Pabin bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bastard's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bastard scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Bastard tries to clinch there but Pabin circles away.

Bastard shoots in and drives through. Pabin sprawls well.

Bastard wants to clinch up but Pabin keeps it at a distance.

Bastard clinches up with Pabin and pushes him back against the cage.
Bastard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Pabin walks away with a smile on his face. Bastard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

enabling Pabin to counter with a crisp jab.
Bastard shoots in for a takedown but Pabin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!

and Bastard counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Pabin!
Bastard really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bastard tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Pabin wants to hold on but Bastard pushes him away.

Pabin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bastard. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
