PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Willians Trautman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Trautman comes to the cage accompanied by Bolt Thrower - No guts, no glory. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Rubio!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubio lands a jab to the head.
Trautman shoots for a double leg takedown but Rubio sprawls well. He's pushed Trautman's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Trautman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Rubio's half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Trautman is pressing down on Rubio's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rubio is holding on for now.
Rubio tries to get to full guard but Trautman has control of the leg.

Trautman is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Trautman is working for a kimura but Rubio is defending it quite comfortably.

Trautman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Rubio defends it well.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Trautman is stalling here. Rubio is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Trautman seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Rubio has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Trautman is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Trautman has his takedown stuffed
and Rubio counters with a head kick. That will keep Trautman thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Rubio connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

It looks like Willians Trautman has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Horrible takedown by Trautman or perhaps it was just good defense by Rubio which made him look bad.

Adam Rubio seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Trautman is looking to take a break and control but Rubio is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Trautman throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rubio escapes and throws Trautman's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Rubio tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Rubio is looking to take a break and control but Trautman is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Trautman is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rubio pulls his head out easily.
Trautman wants to improve his position but Rubio is controlling well.

Trautman manages to escape and get back to his feet!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Adam Rubio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Rubio rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Trautman moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Trautman wants to get up but he can't break Rubio's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Rubio is looking to stand up but Trautman isn't so interested in that idea.

Trautman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rubio manages to get himself to full guard.

Trautman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rubio does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
