The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Spartan paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Nogueira ducks right into an uppercut from Spartan.

Spartan throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nogueira uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Spartan.
Spartan looks to throw the jab but Nogueira is out of range.

Nogueira shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Spartan as he avoids it easily.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Nogueira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spartan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Spartan connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Nogueira to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Spartan!
