These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Selectiona shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Motherwell is trying to defend but Selectiona finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

enabling Selectiona to counter with a crisp jab.

It looks like Dave Motherwell has been cut.

Motherwell moves out of range as Selectiona strikes.
Selectiona shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Motherwell but Motherwell pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Selectiona will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.

Selectiona looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Motherwell is fending him off so far but Selectiona persists. Nope, Motherwell circles away and we're back to standing.

Motherwell tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in the close the distance. Selectiona manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Motherwell is rocked!
Motherwell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Selectiona on the ground.

Selectiona gets to his feet and stands over Motherwell, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Motherwell felt that one! Selectiona unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Motherwell from any more punishment!
