The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jonson wants to clinch up but Miller keeps it at a distance.
Miller swats away the attempt to clinch by Jonson.

and Miller counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Miller throws a strike but Jonson avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Miller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Jonson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jonson swings wildly with an uppercut but Miller uses good head movement to avoid it.

Jonson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Jonson feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Miller sprawling to the canvas! Miller rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Jonson finish him?!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miller shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Miller showed some decent athleticism there.
Miller is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jonson is trying to stand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miller is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jonson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Miller stops Jonson from getting back to his feet.

Miller is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Jonson to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Miller looks to land a right hand but Jonson moved out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Miller counters with a left and a right that stings Jonson.

Jonson lands a big head kick that sends Miller tumbling to the mat! Jonson takes a step backwards and waves Miller back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Miller is rocked!

Jonson has managed to clinch.
Oh Miller is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Miller takes a shot to the head.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Jonson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Miller slips under a jab.
Miller seems to have got his legs back now.
Jon Jonson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jonson closes the distance but Miller moves to the side
and Miller counters with a two punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
