Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robin Linner!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Yuuki Gou and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

This has been an exciting period of action!

Linner slaps away a takedown attempt from Franco, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Linner looks to land a body kick but Franco moved away.
Linner throws a head kick but Franco moves out of range.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Linner enables Franco to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Linner manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

No joy there for Linner, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Robin Linner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Linner moves in looking to clinch but Franco pushes him off.
Linner tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Franco manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Linner throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Linner takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Linner goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Linner tries to sprawl but Franco drives through with a takedown into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bryan Franco.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Franco, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
