I think Funke might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to never gonna stop. Riel Dan Reyes has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Cody Funke's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reyes dives in and grabs Funke's left leg, looking for a takedown. Funke pushes down on Reyes's head and hops out.
Reyes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Reyes uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Funke.
Funke lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.


It looks like Riel Dan Reyes has been cut.
Reyes misses with a double jab.
Funke looks to throw the jab but Reyes is out of range.
Funke is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Funke fails with a takedown attempt.
Funke avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Funke scores with a body shot.

Reyes throws a jab when Funke was well out of range.

Reyes rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Funke moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Funke throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Reyes sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Reyes shoots for a double leg takedown but Funke sprawls well. He's pushed Reyes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Funke uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Reyes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Reyes is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.
Reyes throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Reyes takes a swing at Funke's ribcage but misses.

Reyes drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Reyes slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Funke keeping moving, preventing Reyes from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Reyes keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Funke's head.
Funke is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Reyes is controlling him.
Reyes slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Reyes wants to pass the guard but Funke is keeping the position.
Reyes stops Funke from standing up.
Reyes forces his way into half guard.
Reyes has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Reyes tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Reyes postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Funke looks a forlorn figure.
This has been an exciting period of action!

It looks like Cody Funke has been cut.
Reyes loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Funke scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Reyes land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Reyes stands and salutes the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Riel Dan Reyes!
Riel Dan Reyes gave a mention to Milwaukee's Best 160 in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
