Alves comes into the arena with Body Head Anthem blaring out of the sound system. Osko has chosen Selling the Wind as his entrance music. Josh Osko has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Michael Alves's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Osko shoots for a double leg takedown but Alves sprawls well. He's pushed Osko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Alves is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Osko shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Alves napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Alves is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Osko has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Let's hope that Osko has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Michael Alves is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Osko is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent.

No joy there for Alves, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
