Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brownie Jenkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jenkins comes to the cage accompanied by Higher. Wanderlei Alves will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins swats away the attempt to clinch by Alves.
Wanderlei Alves seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jenkins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alves pinned against the cage. Alves gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Alves tries to clinch up.

Jenkins has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Alves is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Jenkins throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Jenkins throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Alves's waist but Alves gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jenkins off to one side.
Alves tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Alves on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Jenkins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Alves as he avoids it easily.
Alves stalks Jenkins and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Jenkins's face. Jenkins staggers backwards, shaken.
Alves keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Alves tries to clinch but Jenkins is having none of it.

Jenkins shoots for a takedown but Alves saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Jenkins misses with a looping right.
A clash of legs there as Alves blocks the low kick.
Alves moves out of range of the strikes.
Alves pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Jenkins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Alves tries to clinch up but Jenkins circles away and keeps his distance.
Jenkins closes the distance and clinches up with Alves, looking for a takedown. Jenkins pushes Alves against the cage but Alves circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No joy there for Jenkins, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jenkins throws a left that rocks Alves and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Jenkins dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Alves regain composure!

Jenkins in side control lands a decent elbow.
Alves is still in real trouble! Can Jenkins finish him?
Jenkins scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Alves to see if he's OK.
Jenkins lands a nice forearm strike.
Jenkins advances to mount.
Jenkins lands a big shot there that rocks Alves but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Jenkins thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Alves wants to control but Jenkins is having none of it.

BOOM! Jenkins connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Alves seems to have recovered his senses.
A nice elbow there by Jenkins.

Jenkins throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Alves is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Jenkins wants to free his trapped foot but Alves is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Jenkins thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Alves's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Wanderlei Alves will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Jenkins throws a lazy right hand but Alves sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Alves gets cracked there but stands up to it.
