PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tabachoy Paneda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anderson Spider (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look pumped up here. Let's hope this is a good fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Tabachoy Paneda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 13 - 1, fighting out of London, Anderson Spider!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Daniel Bishop and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paneda digs a good hook to Spider's body.
Paneda could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Spider thows a leg kick but Paneda checks it

and Paneda counters with a shoot takedown. Spider fights it but they end up in guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Spider has a closed guard, preventing Paneda from standing up.
Paneda stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Spider swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Spider would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Spider prevents Paneda from getting back to his feet.
Spider wants to get up but he can't break Paneda's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Spider is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Paneda has control of Spider's left arm, preventing Spider from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Paneda shoots in and bounces Spider off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Paneda would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Spider working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Paneda doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Paneda manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Spider is trying to control the position but Paneda postures up.

Spider bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Paneda's guard.
Paneda is pulling down on Spider's head to control his posture.
Paneda tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Paneda knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Spider on the ground.
Spider tries to stand but Paneda is controlling from the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spider is looking to stand up but Paneda won't let him.

Spider throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Paneda shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Spider manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spider is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Paneda is controlling him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Paneda slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Spider will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Spider escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Paneda gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Paneda pulls Spider in close to his closed guard and prevents Spider from doing any damage or advancing position.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Paneda shoots in for a takedown but Spider shows good takedown defense.
Spider throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Anderson Spider will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Paneda seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Spider stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Spider moves forwards but Paneda connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Spider misses with a wild combination.
Paneda throws a nice looking combination but Spider bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Spider lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Paneda circles away quickly and effectively.

Spider is looking to control Paneda's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Spider avoid being mounted?

Paneda is working for a kimura but Spider is defending it quite comfortably.
Spider is staying active underneath Paneda, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Still in half guard, Paneda seems content to control.
The fighters are battling for position here. Spider manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

We're going to have a standup here because Tabachoy Paneda wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Spider lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Spider.

Spider throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Spider fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Paneda manages to avoid it.

Paneda changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spider looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tabachoy Paneda.
I think Paneda has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
