Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Novak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Viacheslav Shestakov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shestakov has chosen Chris Brown - Beautiful people as his entrance music. Viacheslav Shestakov acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Novak!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Viacheslav Shestakov!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Novak clinches with his opponent.

Novak wants the takedown. Shestakov is fighting it off but Novak persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Shestakov's guard against the cage.

Novak closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Shestakov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Novak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shestakov is staying active underneath Novak, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Novak seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Novak is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Shestakov!

Novak wants to finish this one by submission but Shestakov is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Novak.

Shestakov is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Novak has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Novak breaks from Shestakov's wrist control and lands an elbow.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Novak takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Shestakov wants to break free but Novak has control.
Shestakov tries to break the clinch but Novak is controlling the position.

Novak misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Shestakov.
Novak is trying to pull guard but Shestakov turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Novak breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Novak has Shestakov pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Novak pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shestakov tumbling to the mat - Novak dives into Shestakov's guard.

Shestakov is looking to stand up but Novak isn't so interested in that idea.
Novak throws a big elbow that misses.
Novak trying to control the position from guard on top but Shestakov is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Novak is really struggling to control Shestakov but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nick Novak.

Viacheslav Shestakov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shestakov circles away from the clinch attempt.
Nick Novak is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Shestakov moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.


It looks like Nick Novak has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Shestakov gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Novak wants to control from the top but Shestakov keeps moving.

Novak distracts Shestakov with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Novak is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nick Novak wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Shestakov jabs Novak right on the nose. Novak blinks but takes it well.
Novak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Shestakov but Shestakov pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nick Novak. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Novak drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Shestakov misses with a wild combination.
Shestakov is breathing heavily.
Novak wants to clinch up but Shestakov keeps it at a distance.

Some wild striking there from Shestakov.
Shestakov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Novak misses with a takedown attempt - Shestakov sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Novak wants to control from the top but Shestakov keeps moving.

The cut man is working on Nick Novak's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


A punch combination from Shestakov misses.
Novak drops his hands momentarily and Shestakov takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Shestakov throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Novak stumbling backwards into the cage! Novak bounces back off the cage towards Shestakov, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Shestakov lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Shestakov celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Viacheslav Shestakov!
Our winner, Viacheslav Shestakov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
