The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beattie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Steroidi is fending him off so far but Beattie persists. Nope, Steroidi circles away and we're back to standing.
Steroidi feints and then cracks Beattie's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Beattie down.
Beattie doesn't manage to clinch there - Steroidi circles away.

Beattie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Beattie tries to close the distance and clinch up but Steroidi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Anabolinen Steroidi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Arabian Beattie.

Steroidi feints and as Beattie raises his hands in defense, Steroidi changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Steroidi wants to pass the guard but Beattie is keeping the position.

Steroidi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beattie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Steroidi is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Beattie wants to sweep but no luck.
Beattie trying to keep a closed guard but Steroidi is proving a slippery customer.

Steroidi stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Beattie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Beattie throws a sloppy head kick and Steroidi moves out of range easily.

Steroidi lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Beattie moves in looking to clinch but Steroidi pushes him off.
Beattie doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Steroidi counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Beattie looks gassed!
Beattie tries to roll over but Steroidi keeps him under control.
Steroidi is trying to control the action in half guard but Beattie is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Steroidi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Beattie doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Steroidi.
Steroidi moves into full mount! Beattie won't be happy about that!

Beattie is in all sorts of trouble here.

Steroidi looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Beattie is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Beattie clinches but Steroidi breaks the clinch
and Steroidi counters with a stiff right hand.
Beattie shoots and misses

and Steroidi counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Beattie's guard now.

Beattie escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Steroidi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Steroidi drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Steroidi jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Steroidi working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Beattie's head.
Beattie is breathing heavily.

Steroidi postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Steroidi won't allow Beattie to get back to his feet.
Steroidi advances to half guard.
Steroidi controlling the pace.
Steroidi passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Beattie!

Steroidi has hold of Beattie's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Beattie manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Steroidi goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Beattie is on top in guard.

Beattie wants to stand but Steroidi is controlling his posture from full guard.

Steroidi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Beattie gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Steroidi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Steroidi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Beattie can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Steroidi has control of Beattie's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Beattie regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Steroidi looking to isolate an arm here. Beattie doesn't see it coming and as Steroidi extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Steroidi!
