The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vims connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Brandao swings widly with a right hand
and Vims connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Brandao drops Vims with a beautiful combination! Vims stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Brandao is looking for the KO!
Vims is rocked!
It looks like Paul Vims has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brandao swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Vims is still on wobbly legs! Can Brandao finish him?
Brandao misses the jab.
Brandao fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Vims throws a big shot that misses.
Brandao rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Vims counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Vims changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Brandao swings widly with a right hand
and Vims counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Vims seems to have recovered his senses.
Vims uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Brandao.
Brandao throws a jab but it's blocked by Vims.
Brandao misses with an uppercut. Vims saw that one coming.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Vims, as that shot connected.
Vims throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Brandao loads up on a big right hand but Vims slips the punch.
Vims just misses with a punch to the body.
Vims defending well as Brandao loads up on a big left hand.
Vims bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Brandao uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Vims.
Vims is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Brandao rather than just go for the knockout.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brandao rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Brandao takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Brandao throws a lazy uppercut
and Vims counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Brandao throws a right hand that misses
and Vims counters with a two punch combo.
Brandao is breathing heavily.
Brandao misses with a lunging right hand
and Vims cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Brandao is rocked!
Brandao takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Oh Brandao is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brandao takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Vims punishes Brandao's body with a nice straight punch.
Vims scores with a shot to the body.
Vims throws an uppercut from hell that sends Brandao clean off his feet! He's out cold! Vims stands back and admires his work as he thinks about that KO of the night award that is surely being wrapped up for him back stage.
