The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferguson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vampire throws out the jab.

Vampire might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Vampire is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Ferguson shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Vampire sprawls well. Vampire wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ferguson gets slowly back to his feet.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Vampire is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ferguson is controlling him.

Vampire has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ferguson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

and Ferguson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Vampire is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Vampire throws a combination. Ferguson tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Ferguson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Vampire pinned against the cage. Vampire gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ferguson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Vampire swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vampire stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Vampire wants it to stay on the feet.
Vampire throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Ferguson stumbling backwards into the cage! Ferguson bounces back off the cage towards Vampire, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Vampire lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Vampire celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
