Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Daniel Pearce (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Bearwester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daniel Pearce has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Pearce!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rob Bearwester!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Daniel Franklin and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pearce goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
Pearce shoots in but no luck this time.
Pearce's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Pearce duly obliges.
Bearwester fails in his attempt to clinch.
Pearce misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Pearce thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Bearwester if he has to take too many more of those.
Pearce lands with a nice combination. Bearwester backs away looking to recover.
Pearce shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Daniel Pearce. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Pearce closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bearwester circles away.
Bearwester shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pearce as he jumps to the side.
Pearce scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Bearwester on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Pearce wants to clinch up but Bearwester keeps it at a distance.
Pearce lands a two punch combo.
Pearce scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Pearce is working the combinations to good effect here.
Pearce throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Bearwester.

Pearce tries for a takedown but Bearwester circles away easily

and Bearwester decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Pearce's guard.
Pearce looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bearwester is one step ahead there.
Bearwester seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bearwester thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Bearwester is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Pearce wants to sweep but no luck.
Bearwester prevents Pearce from getting back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pearce lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Pearce.
No luck for Pearce with that takedown attempt.
Pearce lands with a kick to the temple. Bearwester shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"

Bearwester clinches.
Bearwester stops a takedown attempt from Pearce.

Bearwester has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Pearce regains guard immediately.
Bearwester passes Pearce's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Bearwester wants to work for an arm triangle but Pearce is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Pearce pushes Bearwester off looking to stand but Bearwester dives back in and keeps control.

Bearwester content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bearwester is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Bearwester seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Pearce is holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bearwester avoids the attempt from Pearce to control.
Pearce tries to reverse the position but Bearwester maintains control.
Bearwester trying to control but Pearce is having none of it.

Pearce tries to buck Bearwester off but he can't manage it.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bearwester prevents Pearce from getting the reversal.
Bearwester landing strikes from the mount and Pearce is in trouble!
Bearwester can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Pearce is looking to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rob Bearwester dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Bearwester has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Pearce finds it's way round the side to connect with Bearwester's head.
Pearce lands a jab to the head.
Bearwester ducks right into an uppercut from Pearce.
Bearwester throws a sloppy head kick
and Pearce counters with a big head kick but Bearwester shrugs it off.

Pearce closes the distance and clinches.
Pearce cracks Bearwester with a nice body shot.

Pearce breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pearce looks for a takedown but Bearwester sprawls well.
Pearce stalks Bearwester and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Bearwester's face. Bearwester staggers backwards, shaken.

Pearce scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Pearce fails to land a wild elbow strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pearce tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bearwester manages to get back to half guard.
Bearwester is looking for a sweep. Pearce is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Pearce tries to stand but can't do so whilst Bearwester controls his leg.
Bearwester regains full guard. Nicely done.
Bearwester is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Bearwester bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Pearce's guard.
Pearce keeping moving, preventing Bearwester from controlling successfully.
Bearwester might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Pearce kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Pearce is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Bearwester is controlling him.

Bearwester is pushing down on Pearce's leg trying to pass to half guard. Pearce is fighting to maintain full guard but Bearwester has managed to sneak the leg through.
Pearce pushes Bearwester off looking to stand but Bearwester dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pearce pushes Bearwester off and gets back to his feet.

Bearwester gets a clinch.

Bearwester wants the takedown. Pearce is fighting it off but Bearwester persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pearce's guard against the cage.
Pearce wants to stand but Bearwester is controlling the position.
Pearce will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Pearce working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bearwester doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bearwester manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bearwester avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Bearwester sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pearce's guard.
Pearce tries to get to full guard but Bearwester has control of the leg.
Pearce slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

A close second round but Rob Bearwester will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's time! Pearce's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Pearce wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Bearwester manages to pass to side control.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bearwester tries to pass the half guard into mount. Pearce knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Pearce kicks off Bearwester and gets to his feet.
Bearwester takes a kick to the side of the head.
Daniel Pearce is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bearwester has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Bearwester fails with an attempt to clinch.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Bearwester has a closed guard, preventing Pearce from standing up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Pearce tries to close the distance and clinch but Bearwester swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Pearce misses with a takedown attempt - Bearwester sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Daniel Pearce seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
