Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joseph D Pistone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Maracic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pistone kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Clint Mansell - Requiem for a Dream (Remix). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pistone fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Maracic has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Pistone shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Pistone prevents Maracic from improving his position.
Pistone wants to lay and pray for a moment but Maracic keeps working.
Pistone is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Maracic pushes Pistone off looking to stand but Pistone dives back in and keeps control.

Maracic is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pistone pulls his head out easily.

Pistone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pistone is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Pistone wants to take a breather but Maracic is having none of it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Maracic throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Pistone escapes and throws Maracic's legs to the side, diving into side control!
