The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hicks tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Khasm swats away the attempt to clinch by Hicks.
Khasm shoots in and drives through. Hicks sprawls well.
Hicks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Khasm to the ground. Hicks is now in Khasm's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hicks tries to free his leg and advance position but Khasm is retaining full guard.
Khasm is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Dante Hicks wasn't active enough on the ground.
Hicks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Khasm.

Hicks drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Khasm gets the underhooks and prevents it.
