The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patterson missing with a left hand there. Winkle was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Perry Winkle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Winkle defending well as Patterson loads up on a big left hand.

Winkle throws a low kick but it's checked well by Patterson.
Patterson misses with an attempted mid kick.
Winkle looks to land a left hand but Patterson moved out of range nicely.

Winkle cracks Patterson with an open hand slap.
Winkle paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Winkle wants to clinch up but Patterson keeps it at a distance.
A punch lands to the side of Patterson 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Winkle gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Winkle lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Patterson is looking to control Winkle's arms but Winkle gets an underhook and turns him. Now Patterson has his back to the cage.
Patterson can't seem to implement his control oriented gameplan at the moment. That's no bad thing of course, for those of us who want to see a good fight.
Winkle has a couple of punches blocked by Patterson.

Patterson swings wildly with an uppercut but Winkle uses good head movement to avoid it.

Patterson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Winkle.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

It looks like Hank Patterson has been cut.
Patterson is aggressively charging in as Winkle backs up avoiding any damage. Winkle tosses out a jab and Patterson runs right into it face first! Patterson is out cold! Winkle dropped down on all fours and is barking in Patterson's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Perry Winkle gave a mention to Black Market Pharmacy and Laundromat in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
