Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Fernando Rueda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paulo Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Paulo Santos and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rueda is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Ramirez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Rueda walks away with a smile on his face. Ramirez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Rueda drives through and clinches with Ramirez against the cage.

Rueda has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Ramirez avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Rueda clinches up with Ramirez and pushes him back against the cage.

Ramirez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Ramirez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Rueda throws his legs up looking for a submission but Ramirez uses it to pass to side control.

You can see the frustration on Rueda's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Ramirez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rueda is just riding it out for now. Ramirez eventually gives up the hold.

Rueda wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Fernando Rueda is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ramirez sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rueda's guard.

Fernando Rueda showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Rueda, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Fernando Rueda spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
