Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Karl Heinz Krypton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Nate Lavelle!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Aleksandr Martynov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lavelle scores to the head and body with a nice combination!


It looks like Karl Heinz Krypton has been cut.
Lavelle swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Krypton counters with a nice double leg into side control. Lavelle won't be happy with that.

Krypton is trying to get an arm triangle but Lavelle is defending well.

Krypton is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lavelle is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lavelle wants to get back to his feet but Krypton drags him back down.

Krypton tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Lavelle is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Krypton is trying to get an arm triangle but Lavelle is defending well.

Krypton is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lavelle has escaped the position, nice work there.

Krypton working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Krypton goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Lavelle rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Krypton's guard! Nice work there by Lavelle!

Lavelle won't allow Krypton to sweep him here.
Lavelle wants to stand but Krypton has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Krypton trying to keep a closed guard but Lavelle is proving a slippery customer.
Lavelle really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Krypton. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Krypton working for a triangle but Lavelle defends it easily.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Krypton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lavelle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lavelle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Krypton is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lavelle defends well.

Krypton shoots in and bounces Lavelle off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Krypton missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Krypton postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Lavelle is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Krypton, into his guard.

Krypton working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lavelle doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lavelle manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Krypton throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Lavelle escapes and throws Krypton's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Krypton is trying to get back to half guard.
Krypton regains half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Krypton is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Lavelle pulls his head out easily.

Krypton flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Krypton controls the position for a moment.
Krypton gets back to half guard.
Krypton regains full guard. Nicely done.

Krypton staying out of range there.
Lavelle looks to land a combination but Krypton avoids it well.

Krypton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lavelle's guard.
Krypton wants to control from the top but Lavelle keeps moving.

Krypton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Krypton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Lavelle wants to stand but Krypton is controlling the position.
Krypton postures up in Lavelle's guard and throws a big left but Lavelle blocks it.

Krypton tries to free his leg and advance position but Lavelle is retaining full guard.
Krypton wants to control from the top but Lavelle keeps moving.
Krypton passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Krypton goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lavelle has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Krypton but great work by Lavelle.
Krypton wants to control but Lavelle postures up.
Nate Lavelle has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Krypton is trying to get back to half guard.
Lavelle wants to stand but Krypton has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard.

Krypton is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Karl Heinz Krypton is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Karl Heinz Krypton.

Krypton shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Krypton showed some decent athleticism there.
Krypton seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Krypton has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Krypton, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Karl Heinz Krypton tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
