Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clement Kumalo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roger Miller!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kumalo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Miller somewhat.
Miller misses with a jab to the body
and Kumalo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Kumalo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kumalo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Roger Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Miller throws a leg kick that misses.
Miller closes the distance and clinches up with Kumalo, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes Kumalo against the cage but Kumalo circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Kumalo ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Miller wants to land a leg kick but Kumalo is out of range.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Miller looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kumalo with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Miller thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Kumalo's head.
Miller has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Miller is trying to work for a kimura but Kumalo is defending well.

Kumalo wants to get back to his feet but Miller is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Kumalo is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Miller dives into side control.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Kumalo takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Miller lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Roger Miller dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Miller drives through with a takedown into Kumalo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kumalo pushes Miller off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

It looks like Roger Miller has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kumalo misses with a few strikes there.
Miller attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Some bone on bone action there as Kumalo checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Kumalo lands with an uppercut that bounces Miller off the cage and back into range.

Miller throws out a leg kick but Kumalo moves out of range and Miller only half commits.
Clement Kumalo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Kumalo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Miller is looking to score with low kicks.

Kumalo scores with a hook to the body. Miller takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Nice sprawl there from Kumalo as Miller shoots in.
Kumalo throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Miller motions for Kumalo to come forward. Miller throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Kumalo has cracked Miller with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Kumalo lands another huge swinging hook and Miller tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Miller, before Kumalo can land any more shots!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Clement Kumalo!
