PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between DepaC Pakamara (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Gunn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Gunn's choice of entrance music: England belongs to me. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, DepaC Pakamara!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 12 - 1, fighting out of London, Ray Gunn!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, James Ackerman and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pakamara shoots for a double leg takedown but Gunn sprawls well. He's pushed Pakamara's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ray Gunn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gunn lands with a hook. Pakamara tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Pakamara takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Gunn stuffs the takedown attempt from Pakamara. Pakamara gets slowly back to his feet.
Gunn is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Gunn is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Gunn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Gunn has gone for a leg lock! Pakamara slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gunn's guard.

Pakamara changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Gunn tries to avoid it but Pakamara manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Gunn to the ground. Gunn escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The fighters circle momentarily. Gunn darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Pakamara shoots in but no luck this time.

Gunn wants to clinch up but Pakamara keeps it at a distance.
Gunn fails with an attempt to clinch.
Gunn throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gunn scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Gunn drives through and clinches with Pakamara against the cage.

Gunn keeps control of Pakamara as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Gunn misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Pakamara.

Gunn pushes off an throws an elbow but Pakamara leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Gunn is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pakamara is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
