PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Barry Sandoval (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Killah Cam (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Cam's choice of entrance music: Metallica-Don't Tread on Me . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cam scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cam working away.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Sandoval tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Cam wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Cam is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sandoval has escaped the position, nice work there.
Cam working the ground and pound but Sandoval is defending the strikes.
Cam creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sandoval sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The strikes coming from Cam are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Cam trying to control the position but Sandoval is working away.

Cam is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sandoval is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Cam creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Sandoval sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Cam tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Cam looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Sandoval is avoiding damage well.
Sandoval might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Cam tries to score with some ground and pound. Sandoval controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Sandoval sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Sandoval tries to roll over but Cam keeps him under control.

Sandoval moves into full guard.
Sandoval wants to stand but Cam is controlling the position.
Cam slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Cam looking to sit in guard and control but Sandoval gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Sandoval wanted to stand there but Cam had control of the position.

Sandoval stands up and waves to Cam to follow him.

Sandoval tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cam swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Cam blocks a low kick nicely.
Cam looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sandoval scores with a punch to the head.

It looks like Killah Cam has been cut.
Sandoval throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cam.
Sandoval throws a body punch but Cam moves out of range.
Horrible takedown by Cam or perhaps it was just good defense by Sandoval which made him look bad.

Cam fails with the takedown.
Barry Sandoval has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Killah Cam.
A bone on bone clash there as Cam blocks the leg kick.
Sandoval swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Cam throws out a leg kick but Sandoval moves out of range and Cam only half commits.
Sandoval stuffs the takedown.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cam has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Sandoval finds it's way round the side to connect with Cam's head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sandoval pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Barry Sandoval will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Killah Cam's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Cam changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sandoval tries to avoid it but Cam manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sandoval to the ground. Sandoval escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Cam is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sandoval defends it well.

Cam is stalling here. Sandoval is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Cam seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sandoval has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Cam can't do much from the bottom here.

Sandoval stands up.
Cam takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Sandoval swings for the body but Cam moves out of range.
Sandoval fails in his attempt to clinch.
Sandoval throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Sandoval cracks Cam with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Barry Sandoval seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Sandoval has managed to clinch.
Sandoval scores with a hook to the body.
Cam is breathing heavily.
Sandoval trying to control the position but instead, Cam has worked for underhooks and has pushed Sandoval into the ropes.
Sandoval is pressed up against the ropes. Cam has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sandoval down to the mat. Sandoval avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Barry Sandoval is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Sandoval throws a head kick that misses.
A good leg kick by Sandoval.
Sandoval thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Cam if he has to take too many more of those.
Cam slips a straight right by Sandoval.
Sandoval feints and then cracks Cam's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Cam down.
Sandoval lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Sandoval throws a head kick that misses.

Sandoval lands a big right hand that sends Cam crashing to the mat! Sandoval stays standing though and waves Cam back to his feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cam looks up at the clock. Bad move! Sandoval lands a right hand from hell, dropping Cam. Sandoval pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
