Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ryu Takashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Burgess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Shigeki Fujiwara.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takashi moves out of range as Burgess throws a body kick.
Takashi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Burgess has his takedown stuffed
and Burgess takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Takashi connects with a right hand. Burgess shakes it off.
Burgess will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Burgess gets the takedown into side control.
Takashi sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Takashi works his way to full guard. Good work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Takashi wants to sweep here but Burgess controlling him for the moment.
Takashi manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Burgess manages to get himself to full guard.

Burgess tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Takashi missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Takashi makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Takashi throwing strikes from guard but Burgess blocks nicely.
Burgess really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Takashi. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Burgess is trying to control the position but Takashi postures up.
Takashi lands a couple of elbows.
Burgess working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Takashi.
Burgess is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Burgess can do anything to dispel that myth.

Takashi passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Burgess takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Takashi in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Burgess parries the strikes from Takashi easily there. Takashi is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Burgess to escape.
Burgess struggling a bit here.
Burgess looks gassed!
Takashi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burgess keeps working.
Takashi lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Burgess down.

Burgess is working to avoid the ground and pound but Takashi connects with a decent elbow.
Takashi lands a strong strike to the head of Burgess. That's dazed him! Takashi looking to finish here. Burgess is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Takashi lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
