Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jake LaMotta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Emil Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). LaMotta comes into the arena with Cavalleria Rusticana: Intermezzo blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but LaMotta moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Emil Hammer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
LaMotta scores with a punch to the head.

It looks like Emil Hammer has been cut.
Hammer throws a nice looking combination but LaMotta bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A punch combination from Hammer misses.
LaMotta shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Hammer pinned against the cage. Hammer gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Hammer tries to land a body kick
and LaMotta counters with an inside leg kick.
Hammer scores with a jab. LaMotta acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Sloppy strikes from Hammer. Those never looked like landing.
A swing and a miss from LaMotta.

LaMotta walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Hammer is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but LaMotta pulls his head out easily.
LaMotta lands with a punch from half guard.

Hammer is trying to stand back up but LaMotta is controlling him
LaMotta thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammer wants to get back to his feet.
LaMotta is nestled in close to Hammer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

LaMotta is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hammer is just riding it out for now. LaMotta eventually gives up the hold.
LaMotta works his way into full mount!

LaMotta has hold of Hammer's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Hammer manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
LaMotta fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Hammer is rocked!
LaMotta drops a big elbow. That's hurt Hammer! More shots from LaMotta and the ref steps in! The fight is over!
