Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of London, Andrew Filmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, John Meyer!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Filmer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Meyer dives in and scores a takedown into Filmer's guard.
Filmer working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Meyer.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Meyer scoring with punches to the head and body.
Filmer controls Meyer momentarily but Meyer frees himself.
Meyer trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Meyer postures up in Filmer's guard and throws a big left but Filmer blocks it.
Meyer passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Meyer is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Filmer has escaped the position, nice work there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Meyer is chipping away with strikes.

Meyer swings around for an armbar but Filmer sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Meyer's guard.
Filmer lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Filmer pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Meyer is keeping the position for now.
Filmer trying to control but Meyer is working from the bottom.
Filmer slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Filmer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Meyer on the ground.

Meyer looking for a guillotine here but Filmer defends easily.
Filmer with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Filmer looking to sit in guard and control but Meyer gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Meyer wants to control from the top but Filmer keeps moving.
Filmer is trying to keep Meyer in close.

Filmer has his foot on Meyer's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Meyer works his way back into a safe position though.
Meyer is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Meyer is looking to work some ground and pound but Filmer has wrist control.
Meyer scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Filmer utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Meyer throwing strikes from guard but Filmer blocks nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Meyer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Meyer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Meyer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Meyer loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Meyer accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Filmer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Meyer has gone for a leg lock! Filmer slips out almost immediately though and dives into Meyer's guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Filmer wants to control from the top but Meyer keeps moving.
Filmer wants to pass the guard but Meyer is keeping the position.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Filmer trying to control but Meyer is working from the bottom.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

We're going to have a standup here because Andrew Filmer wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Filmer looking to land some kicks to the body here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but John Meyer will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Filmer pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Meyer scores a takedown into full mount!
Meyer fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Filmer is desperately trying to improve his position but Meyer has a good base and remains in mount.
Filmer throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.
Filmer wants to control but Meyer is having none of it.
Filmer is in all sorts of trouble here.
Meyer lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Meyer throws some shoulder strikes here and then postures up. Oh, he's gone for an armbar! Filmer has his hands clasped together but Meyer breaks the hold and Filmer is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over! That was lightning fast by Meyer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Meyer!
