Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Thoupos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robbin Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thoupos comes into the arena with Numb Encore blaring out of the sound system. Gracie comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Nervecell - Psychogenocide kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Robbin Gracie is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Thoupos has a couple of punches blocked by Gracie.
Thoupos goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Thoupos shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Thoupos misses with an attempted mid kick.
Gracie throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Thoupos on the side of the head.
Thoupos lands a nice leg kick that just misses Gracie's sensitive parts.
Thoupos tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Thoupos throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gracie throws a right and a left that both miss.
Thoupos throws a sloppy body shot
and Gracie counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Gracie gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Thoupos to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Thoupos pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gracie is keeping the position for now.

Gracie has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Thoupos should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Gracie has tightened it up now! Thoupos should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Robbin Gracie thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
