Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bekah Montoya (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Tomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James Tomas has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bekah Montoya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, James Tomas!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tomas decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Tomas is working for a kimura but Montoya is defending it quite comfortably.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Montoya tries to roll over but Tomas keeps him under control.
Montoya really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tomas is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Montoya is trying to control but can't.
Montoya is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Bekah Montoya has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Tomas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Montoya is trying to keep Tomas in close.
Montoya wants to stand and escape but Tomas is having none of it.

Tomas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Montoya is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Tomas, into his guard.

Montoya stands up and waves to Tomas to follow him.
Tomas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Montoya avoids it really well and circles away.
Bekah Montoya seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Montoya tries to close the distance and clinch but Tomas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Montoya throws a push kick but Tomas slaps the foot to one side.
Montoya avoids the head kick by Tomas.
Montoya throws a sloppy head kick and Tomas moves out of range easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Montoya closes the distance and pushes Tomas back into the ropes.
Montoya wants to take the fight to the mat but Tomas manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Montoya lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Tomas has Montoya pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Tomas pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Montoya tumbling to the mat - Tomas dives into Montoya's guard.
Tomas in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Tomas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Montoya's guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Montoya tries to get to full guard but Tomas has control of the leg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Montoya scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Tomas manages to mount him!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Tomas dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Montoya tries to clinch there but Tomas circles away.
Montoya swings for the body but Tomas moves out of range.

Montoya moves into range and clinches up with Tomas.
Montoya tries to pull guard but Tomas holds him up against the ropes and eventually Montoya drops back down to his feet.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bekah Montoya. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Montoya is trying to break the clinch but Tomas is controlling him.

Tomas manages to break the clinch.
Montoya doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Tomas counters with a left to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Montoya takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Bekah Montoya is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tomas throws a sloppy head kick and Montoya moves out of range easily.
and Tomas counters with a massive uppercut that badly hurts Montoya! He's just covering up as Tomas starts to tee off till the referee steps in and stops the fight!
