Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joao Pires!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Pollock!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pires rushes Pollock and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.
Pires drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Pollock gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Pollock has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Pollock manages to break the clinch.
Pires fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Pires rushes Pollock and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Pollock has Pires pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pollock pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Pires tumbling to the mat - Pollock dives into Pires's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Pires is trying to keep Pollock in close.
Pollock wanted to stand there but Pires had control of the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pires looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pollock passes into half guard.

Pires has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Pollock. Oh but Pires has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Pollock goes limp - he's gone! Pires jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
