The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ryan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Chiba really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ryan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ryan is looking to advance position but Chiba won't allow it.

Ryan wants to work for an arm triangle but Chiba is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Chiba is a very stocky fighter. Infact he's such a weird shape that he's almost like some sort of comedy character - it's hard to believe he's real.

Ryan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Chiba defends it well.

Ryan is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Chiba looks calm but he's in trouble here. Ryan gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Chiba is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Ryan lets go of the hold and Chiba can pop his arm back in it's socket.
